Transience is a font which attempts to communicate the feeling of Nunhead Cemetery as a liminal space: a quiet cemetery in the middle of the loud city of London. Blocks are used in the font which relate to the shape of gravestones, and gradually become smaller from top to bottom in each letter to create a fading away effect. This font was made to represent the stillness and reflection you would witness in the cemetery. The shape of the letters takes inspiration from other Victorian fonts to bring that important historical aspect of Nunhead Cemetery into the font.
