Sacra is a typeface drawn from the Victorian architecture seen at Nunhead Cemetery, focusing on the chapel. When visiting, I felt immediately drawn to the chapel as it appeared it was the unofficial spotlight of the cemetery due to its dominance and intricate detailing. This informed Sacra's letterforms as it features the structure of the chapel's front arch into my typeface. Combining key elements of the chapel like sharp curves and points to echo the gothic, Victorian qualities of the architecture. Sacra reflects the character and period of the cemetery by expressing its history in a typeface.
