Bussey Neue is a sans serif typeface inspired by the Bussey Building in Copeland Park, Peckham. Rooted in the disciplined geometry of Victorian industrial architecture, it translates the site's construction logic into letterforms. The base unit is a window, used as a simple frame into Victorian construction, while deliberately avoiding the era's ornamental typographic flourish. Each glyph is built from a small set of repeatable modules, reflecting the efficiency of factory making and the building's modular fabric. The forms draw on robust load bearing structures, the soft curvature of arched windows, and reinforcing details suggested by grid based fenestration.
